Prep time: 15 minutes   Rise Time: 20 minutes   Bake time: 30 to 35 minutes

Yield: 8 servings

Ingredients:

For the dough:

  • 1 envelope rapid yeast
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 3 cups all purpose flour

For the seasoning:                                        

  • 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
  • 5 tbsp olive oil

 

Directions:

  1. Add the yeast and warm water to a mixing bowl.

 

  1. 10 minutes later, once the yeast has dissolved and the water is cloudy, stir to combine.

 

  1. Add the salt, sugar and olive oil to the mixing bowl and stir to combine.

 

  1. Add the flour and combine.

 

  1. Flour a surface and knead the dough for about 5 minutes and form a ball.

 

  1. Spread the dough into a greased 13 x 9 inch pan or glass dish and place aside to let rise for 20 to 30 minutes.

 

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.

 

  1. Once the dough has risen (it will have doubled in size), use a cooking spoon to make indentations randomly on the top of the dough.

 

  1. Place the olive oil into a small bowl. Brush the top of the dough with olive oil.

 

  1. Sprinkle Italian seasoning over the dough.

 

  1. Place the pan in the oven and bake for 30 to 35 minutes.
