Making fresh guacamole is easy, delicious and enables you to customize the texture and spiciness to your liking.  I often get my “sous-chef’s” at home to have fun mashing the avocados for me.

Yield:  serves 2 to 4

Ingredients:

  • 2 avocados
  • ¼ cup diced onion
  • 2 tbsp freshly chopped cilantro
  • 1 to 2 lime
  • Salt to taste
  • Freshly ground pepper to taste
  • Freshly chopped green chilies to taste (optional)

 

Directions:

  1. Remove avocado from peel and mash in a bowl.

 

  1. Add the diced onion, cilantro, juice of 1 lime, lightly sprinkle salt and add fresh ground pepper. Stir and taste to determine if additional lime is necessary as this depends on the size of the avocados used.

 

  1. Add freshly chopped green chilies if desired.
